What is Browse AI?
Browse AI is a hosted no-code web extraction and monitoring platform. A user installs the recorder, demonstrates navigation and selects fields or lists; Browse AI converts that session into a “robot” that can accept inputs, follow pages, extract structured rows, take screenshots, and repeat on a schedule. Prebuilt robots avoid recording for selected common sources.
The result can stay in the workspace or move through CSV, Google Sheets, Airtable, Amazon S3, REST API, webhooks, Zapier, Make, Pabbly, and broader workflows. Browse AI also positions extracted pages as fresh context for LLM and RAG pipelines. That makes it more than a one-off scraper: it can become an operational data source, with corresponding reliability, licensing, privacy, and lineage obligations.
Robots, monitoring, and reliability
A robot may open a page, sign in, click, enter parameters, expose hidden content, paginate, visit detail pages, capture fields, and compare later runs. Deep scraping is useful for turning a listing into one row per item plus details, but every detail page is a separate task and cost center.
No-code does not mean maintenance-free. A renamed button, changed DOM, experiment, locale, cookie dialog, expired session, blocked proxy, infinite scroll, or delayed JavaScript can create missing or shifted data. Personal starts at $19 per month billed $228 annually with 12,000 credits upfront, five domains and three users; its monthly 2,000-credit option is $48. Professional starts at $69 per month billed $828 annually with 60,000 credits, ten domains and ten users; monthly starts at $87 for 5,000 credits. Premium starts at $500 per month billed annually for 600,000+ credits, custom limits and managed setup.
Plans also expose higher credit variants. Domain add-ons and top-ups vary by plan and billing term. Annual credits can be spent at any time in the year, but unused credits reset at the cycle end. Standard data retention is shown as 90 days; Premium is custom.
On standard sites, each task costs at least one credit, ten rows cost one credit, and a screenshot costs one credit. Premium sources impose a two-to-ten-credit minimum/multiplier. A list of 100 items costs about ten credits, but visiting 100 detail pages adds at least 100. Monitoring ten detail pages every three days is about 100 credits monthly before premium multipliers, retries, screenshots, or workflow steps. Estimate with a real pilot and add failure/retraining headroom.
Credentials, extracted data, and security
The privacy policy says robots may collect origin URLs, usernames, session cookies, local-storage parameters, and passwords when access is required; passwords are encrypted. Browse AI says sensitive encrypted inputs are not logged, support cannot see encrypted inputs, and support access to robots requires an explicit request and is monitored. It reports SOC 2 Type II completion and offers a Trust Center.
Standard pricing shows 90-day retention, while the privacy policy uses purpose- and legal-obligation-based periods for broader personal information. Determine separately how long results, screenshots, run logs, cookies, credentials, backups, exports, support artifacts, and deleted-account data persist. Rotate credentials, use a dedicated least-privilege source account, avoid personal logins, restrict workspace roles and API keys, and revoke access when a robot stops.
Browse AI's terms say customers retain rights in Customer Data but grant processing rights needed to operate and improve the service and create aggregated data. The privacy policy specifically says Google Workspace API data is not retained to develop, improve, or train generalized AI/ML models; do not stretch that narrow statement into a blanket no-training promise for every data class. Review the operative DPA and trust evidence for sensitive deployments.
Scraping law, source rights, and downstream AI
The ability to load a page is not a license to collect, republish, profile, or sell its contents. Before automation, record the source owner, access method, terms, robots guidance, rate limits, copyright/database rights, personal-data basis, notice and deletion duties, contractual restrictions, and permitted downstream purpose. Logged-in data, people profiles, health/financial information, minors, copyrighted media, and competitive republishing need heightened review.
Use slow, predictable schedules, cache unchanged pages, collect only necessary fields, honor deletion and suppression, and provide attribution where required. If the output feeds an LLM, the LLM provider becomes another destination with its own training, retention, location, and prompt-injection risks. Keep provenance per row and treat scraped instructions as untrusted data rather than executable commands.

Adopt it with production discipline: validate schemas and completeness, calculate credits from detail pages and frequency, isolate credentials, shorten retention, document source permission, and govern every export.
