What is Kits AI?
Kits AI is a vocal production platform built primarily for musicians, singers, and producers. Its central tool converts a recorded vocal performance into another AI voice while retaining much of the melody, timing, and delivery. Paid users can also train authorized custom voices. Kits provides royalty-free and licensed voice options as well as private custom voices. The exact license shown for the selected model controls use; “royalty-free” does not mean the output is immune from every copyright, trademark, publicity, competition, or platform policy claim. Avoid prompts, artwork, titles, and marketing designed to imply an endorsement by a real performer.
Plans, voice slots, and download minutes
On August 9, 2026, the Kits pricing page listed Free at $0, Starter at $10 per month, Producer at $30, and Professional at $60, with discounted annual billing. The Free table allowed limited conversion and tools but showed zero download minutes and no normal cloning access. Starter added two voice slots, 15 monthly download minutes, Instant Cloning, and advanced tools. Producer listed unlimited voice slots and 60 download minutes; Professional listed unlimited downloads subject to fair use.
The pricing vocabulary needs attention. Conversion minutes describe processing or experimentation; download minutes measure audio exported from the service. Unused download minutes are described as rolling forward, while unlimited allowances remain subject to fair-use principles. “Unlimited conversions” therefore does not automatically mean unlimited finished audio at every tier.
When a paid subscription is canceled, the official FAQ says custom voices are frozen rather than deleted and can be reactivated by renewing. For a sensitive voice model, do not assume cancellation fulfills a deletion request. Use account controls or contact Kits, document confirmation, and keep the original consent agreement.
Voice models and output rights
For custom voice output, the current terms grant the user a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free worldwide license for personal and commercial use, including reproduction, distribution, modification, performance, and derivative works. That is a platform license, not proof that the user had authority to upload the performer or recording in the first place.
Library voices can carry model-specific terms. Community voice programs may compensate verified performers when their model is used, while company royalty-free models use separate published licenses. Save the model name, license version, generation date, source files, consent, and finished output with the project. A later catalog change should not leave the production team unable to explain what it used.
Privacy and operational review
Kits processes account information and uploaded audio to provide the service. Its privacy policy describes access, correction, account deletion, and personal-information requests, while noting that data outside its possession or control cannot necessarily be removed. It also states that the service is not intended to collect personal information from children under 18.
Voice data is sensitive even where a law does not classify every recording as biometric information. Restrict access to training files and model slots, avoid shared personal accounts, remove unrelated speech, and agree on retention before upload. For commercial work, review subprocessors, incident handling, data location, model isolation, and API credentials.
