What Durable is

Durable is an AI website builder and operating bundle aimed at solo business owners and local service companies. It can generate a website and brand assets, host the site, connect a domain, collect leads, manage customer records, support bookings, create content, and assist with local and AI-search visibility.

Its appeal is consolidation. A photographer, consultant, cleaner, contractor, or coach can launch a credible starting point without separately configuring a CMS, CRM, booking system, hosting, analytics, and several content tools. The tradeoff is a more opinionated and less portable platform than a general visual development tool.

Website generation and editing

Durable generates a site from basic business details and lets the owner edit pages, sections, images, copy, and settings. Begin with accurate inputs: legal business name, service area, services, qualifications, contact information, opening hours, differentiators, and one conversion action.

Generated copy can invent experience, guarantees, certifications, locations, customer numbers, or outcomes. Review every claim before publishing. Replace stock or generated images that misrepresent the actual team, work, equipment, location, or clientele. Service businesses depend on trust; fabricated specificity can cause more harm than generic copy.

Test every page on mobile, submit forms, complete a booking, call the displayed phone number, and verify confirmation and notification emails. Add accessible labels, descriptive link text, adequate contrast, image alt text, and clear privacy and cancellation information.

CRM, bookings, leads, and agents

The current product bundles customer records, bookings, lead replies, blog generation, review requests, competitor research, business questions, visibility monitoring, and creative assets according to tier. Grow expands team access and AI limits.

Automation needs supervision. An AI lead reply should not promise a price, schedule, service area, legal result, or refund policy that the business has not approved. Begin with drafts or narrow templates. Log the original inquiry, proposed reply, sent version, and human owner.

For bookings, verify time zones, duration, buffers, availability, calendar conflicts, intake questions, payments, cancellation, rescheduling, and notification delivery. Keep sensitive health, financial, legal, or identity data out of a general CRM unless the contract and controls support that use.

SEO and GEO features

Durable's current comparison lists optimized metadata, heading tags, JSON-LD structured data, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, fast mobile pages, local directory work, NAP consistency, llms.txt, competitor analysis, and AI-search ranking features at relevant tiers.

These capabilities create a foundation, not guaranteed ranking. Verify that every location, service, review, organization field, and structured-data property matches visible reality. Do not generate thin daily posts only to meet a plan allowance. A smaller set of original pages answering actual customer questions is more useful than high-volume generic content.

Connect Google Business Profile and directories only after business name, address, phone, category, and hours are approved. Inconsistent automated updates can damage local visibility. Review suggested directories and do not create listings that violate category or location rules.

Current pricing

Durable pricing currently lists Free at $0, Launch at $25 monthly, and Grow at $49 monthly, with lower effective figures shown for annual billing. Free includes a Durable subdomain, secure hosting, unlimited traffic, limited images and AI chat, basic CRM, and small blog and lead allowances.

Launch adds a professional website, custom forms, analytics, conversion tools, custom code, advanced SEO and GEO features, a connected or included domain within the stated value, CRM, booking, and higher agent usage. Grow adds unlimited team members, onboarding, support, and substantially higher AI limits.

Older help pages still mention Starter, Business, and Mogul plans. Treat those as legacy context, not current self-serve names. Confirm the final checkout, annual commitment, domain terms, refund, renewal, and usage limits before purchase.

Ecommerce and customization boundaries

Durable's current pricing FAQ says the product is not designed specifically for ecommerce, although customers have launched ecommerce businesses with it. Its newer help center documents payments for booked services, invoicing, refunds, and payment policies. These capabilities should not be assumed to equal a complete store. Test catalog management, cart behavior, inventory, tax, shipping, returns, subscriptions, and currencies against the actual business requirements.

Custom code can extend paid sites in bounded ways, but Durable does not offer broad HTML editing or an independently deployable source codebase. It should be selected for its managed business workflow rather than as a visual front end for arbitrary engineering.

Portability and domain ownership

The public pricing and help pages reviewed do not document a portable source-code export workflow. Treat portability as unconfirmed unless Durable provides current written terms. Preserve final copy, original images, logo files, customer and booking data, analytics configuration, legal text, DNS access, and a list of URLs independently, and estimate the cost of rebuilding before adoption.

Durable says customers can transfer a domain registered through the service, but transfer can require support, time, and minimum subscription conditions. A business should record the legal registrant, renewal date, transfer lock, authorization method, and recovery email. Using an independently registered domain can reduce operational dependency.

Privacy and model training

Durable's public privacy policy dated October 13, 2025 says collected data may be used to provide and improve the service and to train machine-learning models. It separately says data received from Google Workspace APIs is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

The narrow Google exclusion should not be rewritten as a universal no-training statement. Review which content is customer data, what is sent to AI providers, how lead and CRM data is retained, where data is processed, how deletion works, and whether a DPA or plan-specific commitment is available. Use synthetic records during evaluation.

Who should choose Durable?

Durable is a useful shortlist for a small service business that wants a website and basic operating tools in one guided system. It is less suitable for teams that need a complex CMS, complete ecommerce, an application backend, or exportable code.

Choose Framer AI for more design control, CMS, localization, and marketing-team workflows. Choose Webflow AI for a deeper visual CMS and development platform. Choose Lovable for a code-backed application with GitHub portability. The AI presentation and website builders category explains how to compare managed value against migration cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is Durable free?

Durable currently offers a Free tier that can publish to a durable.site subdomain with limited images, AI chat, CRM customers, blog posts, and lead actions. Paid Launch and Grow tiers add custom-domain and higher business capabilities.

Can I export a Durable website and host it elsewhere?

The public pricing and help pages reviewed do not document a portable source-code export workflow. Buyers who require independent hosting should ask Durable for current written confirmation and preserve copy, media, domain access, and business data separately.

Is Durable suitable for ecommerce?

Durable's current pricing FAQ says the platform is not designed specifically for ecommerce, although customers have used it for ecommerce sites. Verify catalog, cart, inventory, tax, shipping, returns, and subscription requirements; use a dedicated commerce platform when those are central.
