Julius AI is a conversational data-analysis platform with notebooks, code execution, file analysis, connectors, charts, HTML artifacts, slide exports, custom Agents, and scheduled reporting. It aims to let a user describe an analysis while preserving an inspectable analytical workspace.
The presence of code is useful but not automatic proof. A generated notebook can run successfully while using the wrong data grain, join, denominator, time window, statistical test, or business definition. Treat Julius as a data-development environment with an AI collaborator.
Files, notebooks, and code execution
Current pricing lists CSV, Excel, and statistical-file intake, with broader formats on paid tiers. Start with a dataset whose correct totals and edge cases are known. Ask Julius to profile types, missing values, duplicates, units, outliers, and keys before requesting a model or chart.
Inspect every generated Python or other executable step. Pin dependencies where possible, avoid arbitrary network or file access, and keep credentials outside prompts and notebooks. A visualization should retain the query, transformation, source snapshot, filters, and reviewer required to reproduce it.
Exports include charts, images, slides, and HTML artifacts on paid plans. Test whether an export contains live data, static output, hidden source values, generated code, or sensitive metadata. A shareable artifact may expose more than the visible chart.
Database connections and semantic context
Julius supports business data connections on higher plans, including major warehouses and relational databases. It can learn a semantic view of schemas and accept a data dictionary or dbt context to select relevant tables.
Semantic guidance reduces ambiguity but does not create authorization. Use a dedicated read-only identity, allowlist schemas and views, mask sensitive columns, set query and compute limits, and block write or administrative statements. Log every executed query.
Reconcile one approved metric across known periods before allowing open exploration. Confirm join relationships, slowly changing dimensions, time zones, currencies, refunds, deleted records, and row-level security. The data team should own the definitions used by a Custom Agent.
Collaboration, Slack, and scheduled reports
Business currently adds shared workspaces, files, notebooks, threads, up to 50 members, data connectors, Custom Agents, a Slack Agent, and unlimited scheduled report runs under the plan table. These features turn one analysis session into an operational system.
Set separate roles for building, reviewing, running, sharing, and administering. A Slack channel can contain users who do not have equivalent database access, and a scheduled report can continue after its creator changes teams. Verify recipient lists, secrets, error notifications, retries, time zones, stale data, and offboarding.
Use approval for external distribution and material decisions. Store a versioned report definition and alert when the schema, model, prompt, source, or result changes unexpectedly.

Julius AI pricing currently lists Free at $0. Plus is $20 monthly or $16 effective with annual billing and includes 2,000 monthly or 24,000 annual credits. Pro is $45 monthly or $37 effective annually, with 5,000 monthly or 60,000 annual credits and 32 GB RAM.
Max is $200 monthly or $166 effective annually with 25,000 monthly credits; Ultra is $500 or $416 effective annually with 70,000. Business is $450 monthly or $375 effective annually, currently listing 60,000 monthly credits, up to 50 team members, connectors, custom Agents, Slack, and schedules. Enterprise is custom.
An earlier official credit-transition announcement listed lower Pro and Business allocations than the current pricing page. Treat the live pricing page and checkout as the current snapshot, while saving the purchased terms. Model simple questions, complex code, large context, retries, scheduled runs, premium models, storage, and idle seats.
Security, privacy, and deletion
Julius's pricing and trust materials list SOC 2 Type II, two-factor authentication, roles, SSO, and audit capabilities across higher plans. Confirm which control is included in the purchased tier rather than assuming every account receives Enterprise governance.
The July 1, 2026 privacy policy describes account and service data, AI Functions, providers, security measures, advertising technology on the public site, and privacy rights. It says a verified business-level deletion request leads Julius to limit access and delete information accessible to Julius within seven business days.
Clarify how that process applies to files, notebook code, outputs, embeddings, warehouse metadata, schedules, Slack copies, backups, support records, and provider logs. Review the DPA, trust center, subprocessors, data region, model-training terms, retention, and incident response before sensitive use.
