What Decktopus is
Decktopus is an AI presentation platform that generates a deck from a topic, uploaded file, notes, or a short description. It creates structure, copy, design, and suggested visuals, then lets the author edit slides, apply branding, share, analyze, and export.
Its distinctive addition is Decktopus Loop, an AI rehearsal product that helps a presenter practice delivery, anticipate questions, and receive feedback on pacing and clarity. This expands the workflow from “make slides” to “prepare to present them.”
Generating a complete deck
Decktopus is designed for a guided start. Describe the audience, goal, occasion, length, available evidence, and desired action. An existing presentation or document can be uploaded as a resource, allowing the system to extract key points and build a new narrative rather than merely importing each old slide.
The author can review and edit generated content after creation. Treat every factual sentence as unverified until it is traced to the source pack. AI is good at producing smooth transitions that make unsupported conclusions feel natural. Label assumptions and remove examples that sound specific but lack evidence.
Decktopus can derive visual direction from a website URL or use an existing brand system. Website extraction is a starting point, not brand approval. Check whether the chosen logo, colors, fonts, images, and spacing follow the current guideline and whether the assets are licensed for the new deck.
Loop and presentation rehearsal
Loop simulates audience questions and provides feedback on delivery. This can help a speaker find weak explanations, jargon, rushed sections, and missing transitions before the real meeting. It is not a substitute for a knowledgeable reviewer or live rehearsal with the intended audience.
Do not upload confidential board questions, employee situations, customer negotiations, or unreleased financials before reviewing the data path. Rehearsal audio, transcripts, prompts, generated questions, and feedback can carry more sensitive context than the final slides.
Use AI feedback as a prompt for reflection rather than an objective score. Accents, disabilities, speaking styles, deliberate pauses, and culturally specific presentation norms can affect automated judgments. The presenter remains responsible for the message and delivery.
Export and sharing
Decktopus documents PDF, editable PPT, and PNG export for paid plans. Its help center says PPT files can be opened and edited in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides. Hosted sharing, custom domains on relevant plans, presentation notes, folders, and analytics support web delivery.
Run an export test with the actual deck type. Confirm fonts, charts, images, notes, video, slide size, reading order, and editability in the destination. Even an editable file can require design cleanup when the receiving application implements layout differently.
If downstream authors spend most of their time in a native slide editor, SlidesAI may reduce handoff friction. If web-native sharing and multiple content formats matter, compare Gamma.
AI credits and pricing
Decktopus pricing currently displays Pro at an effective $9.99 per month when $119.88 is billed annually, $19.99 per month when billed every three months, and $24.99 for a monthly purchase. It lists 750 monthly AI credits, PDF and PPT export, and sharing for Pro. Business and Enterprise add collaboration, analytics, brand, domain, and organizational features according to the comparison table.
An official billing help article updated in 2026 says all plans are billed annually and monthly billing is not available. That conflicts with the current pricing page displaying three purchase cycles. The safe conclusion is not to choose a winner: inspect the final checkout and renewal schedule for the account's region, then save the terms shown at purchase.
The current credit help says generating one slide costs five credits and an AI slide or text edit also costs five. Top-up packages are offered separately and do not expire under that page. A 750-credit allowance therefore supports a theoretical 150 five-credit actions, but a real project mixes creation and revision. Track actions rather than treating 150 as guaranteed finished slides.
Privacy and security considerations
Decktopus's public privacy policy, effective February 11, 2024, describes collection of account, device, payment, usage, and service data. It says data may be used to provide, maintain, improve, research, and analyze services and that personal information is shared with contracted providers for operations. It says the company does not sell or rent personal information.
The policy does not provide the precise, plan-specific public exclusion from AI model training that some enterprise buyers require. Its service-improvement wording should not be converted into a stronger promise. Request the current DPA, subprocessors, AI-provider list, model-training terms, retention, data location, support access, and deletion behavior before using confidential material.
Who should choose Decktopus?
Decktopus is a relevant shortlist for people who want one guided system for creating a presentation and practicing its delivery. It can suit consultants, educators, founders, and business presenters who value speed, editable PPT export, brand extraction, and rehearsal.
Choose Beautiful.ai when recurring brand governance and automatic slide layout are more important than coaching. Choose Pitch when multiplayer collaboration, pitch rooms, and engagement analytics are central. Choose Gamma for flexible web-native cards and lightweight websites. The AI presentation and website builders category gives a shared pilot framework.
